A Hash Algorithm-256 (SHA-256) ASIC processor, a hash rate of up to 580 GH/s, and up to 26 J/TH power efficiency are among the key aspects of the new chip. The device also supports up to 258 integrated circuits per chain.

According to Jose Rios, general manager of Blockchain and Business Solutions in Intel’s Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics Group, the Intel Blockscale ASIC will play an important role in helping bitcoin mining firms meet sustainability and hash rate scaling goals in the years to come.

Among those that have already purchased the new computer are Argo Blockchain, Block Inc., Hive Blockchain Technologies, and GRIID Infrastructure.

The Bonanza Mine, the company’s first-generation mining chip, was released recently.

As Intel vice president and general manager of custom compute for accelerated computing systems and graphics, Balaji Kanigicherla stated, “Intel’s decades of R&D in cryptography, hashing techniques, and ultra-low voltage circuits enable blockchain applications to scale their computing power without compromising on sustainability”.
